# License & Updates

> Activate your Oasis license and keep Oasis up to date.



Every Oasis install needs an active license. Addons are licensed with their purchase and have no key of their own.

## Licenses

Your license is tied to your panel's domain, taken from its `APP_URL`. To use it on a new domain, ask us on Discord.

Oasis checks your license every 6 hours. If our license server can't be reached, your license keeps working for 14 days.

| Status     | Means                                                                           |
| ---------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Active     | Oasis is unlocked.                                                              |
| Not active | No key has been entered, or your key was refused. The section shows the reason. |

If Oasis locks, your panel and servers keep running. Only the theme's customisation and the Theme Editor stop, apart from the **License** section.

## Automatic Updates

With **Automatic Updates** on, Oasis checks for a new version every 6 hours and installs it. Your settings are kept.

To update by hand, open the **License** section of the Theme Editor and press **Check for updates**, then **Update now**.

Automatic updates only cover Oasis itself. Addons are updated by installing their new `.pteroext` over the old one.

## Full Source

The Full Source addon is `oasis-source.zip`, with the readable `.pteroext` of Oasis and every addon. It still needs your license, and the [License Agreement](/docs/oasis/license) applies to any changes you make.

Updating replaces your files, so turn off Automatic Updates if you have changed the source.
